Nope! We teach everything from scratch. Whether you’ve never touched a robot or you’ve been building for years, you’re welcome to join our team.
Any Crofton High School student interested in STEM, teamwork, leadership, or trying something new. We always would love to have more members on our team! For adults, you can become a mentor to our team through the Cybirds Booster Club.
Not at all! You can join for learning, building, or helping the team even if you don’t want to compete. But competitions are fun, and we encourage everyone to participate.
You don't need to be! Robotics teaches you as you go. What matters is that you're curious and willing to learn.
Yes! It's completely free to join.
Yes, but only if you have completed the safety training with the rest of the team at the beginning of the season and get listed on the roster.
Absolutely! You're not confined to working on a specific subteam and we fully support you in exploring different interests in the Cybirds!
We encourage consistent attendance, but we understand school and life come first. Just communicate with your leads.
Comfortable clothes and closed‑toe shoes. For those with longer hair, bring a hairtie to tie your hair back. We provide safety googles. For those on the Coding team, bring a laptop.
Our team is run entirely by students — engineering decisions, leadership roles, outreach, business, and team operations. Adults support us as mentors, but students lead the way.
